Microwave ovens have revolutionized food preparation since their use became widespread in the 1970s. Magically promoting the TV dinner to its glorious status. They have succeeded in alienating even more the people with their food. In Europe, it is still common not to find that device in the kitchen. Try to look for one in an Italian Kitchen, they will chase you down the street, a sacrilege to the purity of good food. Yet, no American kitchen is finish without the precious oven.  The microwave oven is the golden boy of our society. Illustrating everything about how we have come to perceive our environment - quick, programmable, sealed, detached (you don’t know how it is done, it just does)
