When the crazy gets crazier! In the LA Times, by Alan Zarembo. A recommendation by the American Academy of Pediatrics that those as young as 8 be aggressively treated with cholesterol-lowering drugs is creating controversy. The guidelines, produced by a seven-member panel and published in the academy’s journal, Pediatrics, did not include any disclosures about the authors’ ties to drug makers.
